22 juniors participated on this penultimate day of the summer season in a fun 5-minute, 6-round tournament. In part one today, which included 3 rounds, Oscar took the lead with 3 wins, Henry followed with 2.5 wins, and Michal and Wyatt each had 2 wins. Part two, with another 3 rounds, will be next Saturday, our last event before the summer break.

Valuable assistance was on hand from Jon Catchpole, Samuel Gorsuch and John Heath, who kept a watchful eye on proceedings, my sincere thanks to them.

Trophies and Medals were presented to all our Winners, runners up and third placing in the 3 Ladder competitions and Knockout challenge.

Everyone present received a Certificate, Pen and Book Marker as a token of appreciation for their dedication and loyalty to the club.

A reminder that next week is our last before the summer break, we will complete our 5 minute tournament with Part 2 of 3 more rounds.

The Library are keen to keep the chess facility open throughout the summer holidays, to that end, there will be chess sets set up and available to anyone who wants to pop into our room on a Saturday for a friendly encounter. Please Note:- No tutors or tuition will be available.
