If you are losing at chess because you keep repeating the same mistakes over and over again, stop playing chess the way you currently are and start winning more games by first of all, sticking to opening principles.
Put one or two of your pawns in the centre and protect them with another pawn and develop your pieces, Knights, Bishops before Queen and Rooks, castle early to get the King safe and the Rook into play, if you just follow this strategy it will help you get into a good position to enter the middle game.
The middle game is where you look for and execute tactics, PIns, Forks, Skewers, Discovered attacks etc etc, that’s why you must keep those ideas in your head at all times in the game.
When it’s your move, literally sit on your hands, don’t touch your pieces, you need to look carefully at your opponent’s last move, before you decide your best move.
This is when CCT comes into practice, CHECKS, CAPTURES and TARGETS
simple questions to ask yourself:-

Checks – is there any way I can check the King?

Captures – are there any pieces I can take?

Targets – look for any weakness or unprotected pieces in opponent’s setup and plan an attack.
