14 youngsters joined us today, including newcomers Logan and Chinmay, who are most welcome. A big thank you also goes to Jon Catchpole for attending and assisting with the tuition of the more advanced juniors. Great to have some extra help as the numbers are rising.
A selection of puzzles were set up, testing their thoughts on last weeks theme of the Pin.
I concentrated on instructing the new members in the fundamentals of the game including opening and endgame techniques before pairing everyone for the opening round of the new Knockout Tournament.

Some surprise wins in this first round, a draw for Lewis v Eden so they will have to play again.
Four additional names will be added as returning faces reappear, hopefully next week. The second round will be played after completion of this first round.
Next week will see the return of the Ladder competition.
